Khosla Ka Ghosla

Raw and Grey

Constructing  own house (not flat )is probably the biggest milestone  in a typical middle class family of the 90s (?)  after the obvious milestones like -  Bachey , Bachoan ki padhai , Gaddi , Bachoan ka college , Bachoan ki naukri , Bangla, Bachoan ki shaadi. Order being subjective to circumstances ,  cash net inflow and priorities .

Author being  born in  era under  such a social stature and upbringing is happy  to see smile in Mom’s eyes and pride in Dad's  on discovery of  water,  250 feet below

Pani ki khoj

Though one still  stuggles with This, suggested to build house at  their roots , no matter which metro they choose to dwell , further.
Roots being a touristy place , home stay options can be tried out later

PS0: Mum has been singing : ek bangla bane nyara
PS1: Author hasn’t been part of the micro progress .Feels good today.
PS2: Though I hate  milestoned life !!

Subcounciou's Dreamy Conversation

I haven't been dreaming since long .
I actually stopped , "i guess" (you know cannot trust the memory that too while sleeping) ,

Conscious decision of reduced FBing has helped. On the contrary it makes all people updating it mindlessly round the clock look completely stupid ,silly .Lonely souls of the crowd.
(yup, readers are free to  wonder "look who is talking").

Now the twist is , i had a day dream today. One has recently acquired day napping habit at home.

The dream was about ?
FB

What?
Yes, i was FBing

Can you elaborate?
There were around 10 notifications.I was tagged in a crazy birthday party video from college days. Then i was tagged in some random photos by a person whom i don't know and he is not in my friend list .This left me pretty curious .
And ya, one of my closest friend finally decided to give a human touch to her profile , by uploading her profile picture.
There were some you-tube videos, some links etc etc etc.....

Then?
Well ,i wanted to get up and quickly log-in  to find out about that guy tagging me crazily  and hmm and  ummmm ,then I got up.
(mom ranting  in the background)

Oh , so you realized that you  were dreaming and wanted to get-up??
Strangely , yes towards the end i realized i was not plugged and got this urge to login and remove tags

Remove tags?So you still thought , all those notifications , tagging you saw in dream actually happened?
Yes and yet i realized i was not connected , though in the dream i was.

I guess you have taken Inception seriously , have you?
Too grown up to take movies seriously .They need to be highly disturbing to churn some emotions.

Honey , you need some FBing
Nah, i rather blog it out.Let the control last atleast till today.

PS0: Apart from becoming  little psycho , i have harmed my beloved.
PS1: Stamped on the mobile in such a way that the inside screen layer  has cracked and the liquid is trapped below the top layer. In short i have given it a nice blotty blood clot.
PS2:Hibernation period is about to end.

Is It Dying?

Symptoms :-

1. The frequency of posting is diminishing .
2. The archives have developed gaps of months , years in worse cases .
3. You are posting more you-tube videos than actual write-ups.
4. You post only photos as you are slothful to be able to express in 1000 words.
5. There is no craving for new posting ideas lurking around .
6. There is no urge to check comments.
7. You stop confessing on this diary , even when yours is a zero-comment-clandestine blog .
8. All effort is now spent on making it visually appealing than on writing.
9. Your quotes , poems prefer FB status messages and notes.
10. You suddenly forget password to the blog !!

If yours is a victim of above , it might be heading towards it’s grave where thousand other archives are lying in webbed peace .

Get up and rejuvenate! If it is your avocation ,there shall be reincarnation of some kind .
Of a kind which can prompt the readers to come up with “symptoms for addiction” .When feeds show numbers , with mostly nines.

PS1: Did you know , there is something called Drunk Posting. I have read one such and it was hilarious.Including the major typos, retained strategically.

PS2: Well , Did you know there is something called WikiDump - "One man’s trash is another man’s treasure".

PS3: Blog people Blog, in senses or not.In Sickness or health.

Driving school and CFCs

Take 1
%Dial-up connection sucks at times%
%The repeated attempt of uploading an interesting video featuring TeaOfKap learning to drive a car, went in vain %

Take 2
I don’t know how helpful this initiative is .Was downloading WordWeb and on installation a question popped-up on how frequently one fly’s and if it’s more than two times an year voilla! You cannot use the application. You need to buy the software.

A drop in ocean , but as they "Boond boond se saagar bharta hai ".

PS0: Hope actors in the video have no objection, for it being posted here. Author was careful enough to shoot without revealing the much of identity. (This was written with an assumption that the clip was uploaded and I want to stay with the assumption.
PS1: First time the actual PS content went in a PS hehe.

PS2: Shivers! There was this sudden boom sound just now. We jumped out in balcony suspecting bomb blast .They have made bomb bam usual than transformer bangs.

PS3: Yes, FB is becoming more n more addictive. This constant urge of reading, writing and replying statuses is crazy. One reason of not extending the friends list is this.

PS4: And author is not doing justice to her blog .But who doesn’t love to see instant response- “comments “come up more proactively there .No wonder the PS statements tend to get tempted towards status message text box.

I know what I am going to die of

Alzheimer's.

I forgot my birthday reminder’s birthday, Frogee’s Birthday :(
I am bad at remembering dates , but I never forget March23rd , its kind off registered in my brain since I was in 5th class.
Frankly speaking the calendar in my brain was running behind schedule , all day long I thought it was 22nd.

A call from movers n packers and a quick login on orkut , opened up my eyes and I shouted “SHIT” while running performance test cases.
Nope! there is nothing wrong in drawing a blank on your closest pal’s BD , after all we are humans.

But what would you say on this:-
A day before i.e on actual 22nd I shopped with her for her birthday present . She came to bid me farewell and all .
They surprised me with a collection of my old pics ( Historically I was stick thin ), Amol Palekar’s movies, Sex and the city cd , Paulo Coelho’s novel , etc….some emotional hugs .And the very next day , It just went out of my mind ?
I am going to be her Made of honor , She is marrying my best guy friend and all I do is simply forget .

I thought I wasn’t sad at leaving hyd . Actually I don’t have time to feel anything. N things like packing, cartons , banking, parties, buying etc are keeping my mind hazardously occupied to even sit and realize the inner grief . Oh lord! I beg for some time.

Sorry :(, I know Frogee you don’t read my blog . I failed to sell it to you .But I love you and I am going to miss you.

The Fountain Of Youth And A Quote

Prerequisites -The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

For him.......

I was born old
I will die younger
All the while along , inside I grew old.

For us...........

I was born young
I will die older
All the while along ,inside I will try to stay young.

Ageing is a parallel process of both mind and body ,they usually head the same direction.
but for some , it can traverse opposite.
As they say “I cannot control what goes outside , but surely can control what goes inside.”

A Quote

See the photo on top right of this page.
Scroll this page a little down ,read the cheeky quote on right.
They are dynamic content and by the time you see, it may change ,it may change to something weird as well, but it doesn’t matter .
This dynamicity kind of inspires me to visit my own blog every day , I may not have comments coming up for every post , but I have something to look forward to in here , newfangled stuff.
And so this is my first attempt on writing Quotes , photography can wait. Poetry , Shayaree shall continue.

You don’t correct mistakes in past .
You learn to correct them in present and not to commit them again in future.
-Clueless

PS:If you have heard something similar then ,as they say " some people think alike", I say "some people write alike". :)

Confessions Of A Lose'O'Holic

I am on a losing spree .I have been losing a lot. I am going to lose a lot more emotionally by this month end.
But what I lost today ?(in materialistic terms) as in yesterday , coz it’s past 12 now. As in on 6th March.

Well, yes the much awaited , the one which was destined to go during Tirupathi trip itself.
My wallet ! and all I am doing is blogging .

I am sad .I am sooooooooooooooooooooooo soooooooooooooooo sooooooooooo sad .I am almost sobbing here.
Not because I lost money, Not because this time apart from two debit cards there was a credit card , not because it’s my favorite purse
Not because there was id card , also PAN(ok , I am literally crying here, tears are rolling down ma cheek ) .
Not because I know retrieval of those essentials is going to be full of hassles and thyself doesn’t have time.

Because I feel vulnerable. I am still hoping against hope to find it in the black holes of ma cupboard .
I am a “careful careless “. I don’t lose things often.

The story how it happened is below and while typing I hope to figure out how I lost it :

March 5th after leaving office, author had here ritual visits to tailor , sabzee wala, and dairy shop at Mayur Marg.
As usual my hands were over occupied when returning from Dairy shop to ma building, with two grocery bags , with a back pack , Badam milk and phone (being new and worth investment of 15 K I am extra careful about this).

Next day I went office , Abhi-K asked for some cash , out of generosity when one digs down in the bag , there is no wallet .
Nope! the realization doesn’t happen then.
Peacefully I assume and announce I must have forgotten it at home. And RG ma boss laughs in amusement.
The day goes well. I go out with friends , telling everybody that I have forgotten ma wallet, so sponsor me.

After coming back in the evening me and ma roomy turn the whole house upside down and search .Go back to office and search .
Stare in the eyes of Dairy shop walla with suspicion and enquire .But no vain.

The time has come to block the cards says Roomy making me realize that I have actually lost it. I haplessly call the customer care services , who for me at that moment were the Gods.
Apart from helping they provided the much needed condolences .

Now roll back the time “March 5th after leaving office, author had here ritual visits to tailor , sabzee wala, and dairy shop at Mayur Marg”…
Last payment was made at dairy shop. Possibility of leaving it in office or anywhere else before that was ruled out.
After reaching home I don’t remember seeing it or fiddling with anytime.

So the grey area was Dairy to my home. Two Minutes walk.
Yes , I did found my back pack’s zipper open but I remember to have checked all vitals , not sure though.
So somebody stole it while I was making my purchasing or it must have fallen.

But then why weren’t there any transactions ?
I gave one whole day to them.

Whatever .I am mad like hell with myself and venting it out.
Sobs, Sobs only sobs.

Note on a Note

This was to be given for valet parking at Coccos -Banjara Hills (awesome place for chicken kebabs and Mexican food).
This was to be given to an auto walla who dropped us @ Mayur Marg.
But this was given to me.
By our very own Muneem Ji.

" नोट नोट पे लिखा होता है उसकी पोककेट वाले का नाम "

And all I could decode was this

1st line- में

2nd line- को रुपया

3rd line-

4th line - होता है

10 points for each word .Try figuring out.

PS: Next post on , why I hate(read dislike) dogs .
PS1:Yes , you heard it right , dogs in particular –Comet.
PS2: Now don’t get carried away ,stay focused .Personal access to that 10 rupee note will be given on demand .It’s in safe possession of the author.

Real to Reel.

They all ran, wrapped in long meters of silk .Nandini for Samir , hitting everything which came on the way , all those brass articles, endless satin red curtains , through the huge mansion , burning her dupatta on the way.

Paro for Devadas in a red bordered white saree, rippling behind……calling “deva..oh deva re…deva….………..”.Again smashing the brass articles and yes there was some fire here as well , doing some burning admix those red curtains, through those twist and turns & long passages of the haveli.

Sakina for Imran( twice), this time the long hair waved along with the white Lahanga in the first sequence and a black one in the second shot with all that peacock blue backdrop , smoothly and swiftly towards her love. They all ran as if there is no tomorrow.

(Hope I could have created audio and visual effect with my writing L unfortunately I lack the skill.)

Well these are the common acts of some of the Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s creations with luxurious & magnificently detailed backdrops. Namely -Hum Dil De Chuke sanam , Devadas, his latest flop Saawariya.

If unable to recollect have a look at them on youtube. They all are similar.

Wonder why dint he made Michelle run in Black.
Movies were released, some appreciated, some bombed at box office and then gone. The Actress enacting the sequences changed from Ash to Sonam…..But what remained was the character. There’s a bit of Nandini, Paro ,Sakina in each other …at least till the characters were on the papers , in the scripts , in the mind.

Every Director’s or may be writer’s movies we see has something in common. I am not talking about the typical bollywood formulas or categories or camps or the style or the things which are retained deliberately or automatically. This is all about a personal touch, a deep unsaid emotion, an unfulfilled ambition, a message, a rebel, learning, preaching, an experience, a lost love, a dream…. Which the person was unable to live through in real life is portrayed in the reel life.

Yes , movie making is an industry, it is money making, and it is business,it's showbiz!!. But it is also an art –a craftsman’s creation, a visionary’s vision, a mother’s baby, a never ending search and drive for lost past & unseen future.

Residing in epicenter of “Malls”.

No this is not about the Mall culture of the metros or is it? Read on to find out while I myself will figure out while writing what this post ends up in.

Living in Begumpet/somajiguda/Banjarahills……. most of the It/BPO (highly paid labors) belonging to the rat race, live in these areas. They work on weekdays and the earnings are shelled out on weekends. Ya ya I knw what you guys are thinking, you don’t belong to this shopholic breed. Well who said junta goes to malls only to shell out money. We go for window shopping, “Bird watching”, AC ki hawa khane in those summer days, to kill time, R&D on a specific product etc…….

Fortunately-unfortunately “na illu Begumpet lo undi” .Towards right a few 100 meters is Shoppers Stop, towards my left just after crossing the bridge is Lifestyle. Slightly ahead of this is Hyderabad central….few more kilometers, Banjara hills road no.1, opposite TK is City centre..phew!! already four in a radius of …..Kms. (will calculate and fill in the blank).Anyways in Hyderabad kilometers don’t matter. The traffic jams makes all the difference in speed & time to reach the so called “near by” places.

Central is heavily rushed at any hour of the day as the PVR crowd is added to the other general mall crowd plus the huge eating joint crowd. You will find ((Shoppers Stop+Pantaloons+Lifestyle ) * products) @ Central.Yeah but if you are looking for a very specific piece in terms of size/color/variety this is NOT the place to look for.

Malls are not the place to shop for those people who have taken the decision and are very sure/keen of what they want in terms of all the specifications of the product. You may not find the right size if the color is there, or vice versa.

It’s a place where one generally goes and picks up the stuff without deciding or one who knows “where“ to buy but not “why” to buy. I have been searching for “Mera wala Blue” casual shoes at all these places. Successfully found it at both shoppers & central but of 4 and 8 number sizes L that too single piece.

When it comes to trendy clothing, Lifestyle& City center is the place to look for. It does has all the fashionable chic clothes + the chics (good for guys) .The crowd also includes Ok type boys…Where do all the handsome looking men shop? We haven’t seen many..annnn!! I know now , probably we are too busy shopping and trying out stuff rather than looking here and there: D. but Central crowd always has a bunch of annoying lafangas sitting on seats of every floor who come just for bird watching.

The good fragrance of these malls is contributed by the perfume section kept at the entrance .Their price range goes beyond limits hence these sections are mostly empty. Just beside them will be the cosmetic+ Jewelry section with heavily make-uped layered sales girls.

The whole idea of super markets /malls or such places which keep all their goods on display has struck the right cord of today’s consumer and a marketing strategy which works very well. Earlier people used to prepare a shopping list before going to market and would buy the same from a shop where goods were taken out on demand. Now every product is visible to the consumer whether it’s needed or not, resulting in tempting customers to pick up stuff randomly. We end up buying more than what we actually need. (Considering the fact we have the money to buy.)

And if taking about malls how can one forget the multiplexes. During college days (that’s only 2 years back) watching a movie consumed 35(ticket -balcony was preferred) + 10(coke)+10(popcorn)+10 (bus/auto/transport)= 65 rupees.

And now we shell out 100(ticket)+100(coke&popcorn)+500(optional-after all you are in multiplex you might end up shopping some stuff or there is a super market attached to all so might be a grocery buy .Also people have their own addictions to buy books/cds/gadget..etc) whatever it sums up to=700 bugs
65 was spent once in say.three months and now movie watching has almost become a weekly business or at least monthly .

I think I can go on and on this; there are so many mall strategies yet to be told the 999 price tag and all …phew! Stop!

Those were the consumer behavioral norms of the past. These are the behavioral patterns of the generation pre-liberalization.

However, just as consumer mindsets and attitudes have taken a step change since the opening up of the economy and the advent of consumerism, so too have consumer behaviors seen a 'sea change' during the same period.

Peter Drucker said, "The purpose of business is to find a customer." Theodore Levitt elaborated that "the purpose of business is to create and keep a customer". However, today business is moving towards what Jason Jennings and Laurence Houghton said, "The purpose of business is to find, keep and grow the right customer.
