Current Music Compulsion

Author has this habit of repeatedly listening to the same song for days and hours ...until the upper most limit of obsession is crossed.

There should be a term for this syndrome nai?

PS0: dum maro dum . Tampering is awesome ,  Pritam .

PS2: Hmmm,   this has more dum than Sheila and Munni Badnaam

PS1:Sometimes i love noise: big , loud ,  resonating .....if not anything else it subsides the noise from within

PS and etc.....

PS0 : And we revisit  Law of conservation of flab
Author is loosing , for a change "weight".
Nice feeling it is ,not sure how long will it last .However this has lead  me to proudly don the swimwear and jump in the pool. But err......just jumping won't help , i cannot swim.
Archimedes before patenting buoyancy  just forget to evaluate it with mass of ma kind.

PS1 : The DKOM dev meet was mostly  tiny-little-brain-bombarded with information-overload . Information mostly being industry buzz words than actual core stuff.
As one is already working on cloud computing , nothing impressed me more than the speaker himself ;).
Fida on Guru.
One was soooo checking him out .
He soooo noticed one checking him out .
That's it , end of the story ! turns out he is sooooo married ,ouch.
Got  safely registered  in fan , admirer category.

PS2 : IIM B Prof. Dr Y.L.R Murthy's speech made  my day1
Swarathma  the Indian band made my day2 .I think this was one of their first successful "corporate" shows which sucks otherwise.

They hit the right nerve of the audience with contemporary rock bhajan kind of music garnished with humorous  bhojpuri comments , namma kannad songs , Telugu  sprints & Kabir dohe in  DJ style  .
It had  kailash kher raw touch.

Kuch To Log Kahengay

Baat Niklegi to  by Jagjit Singh

 Lyrics
Baat Nikalegee To Phir Duur Talak Jaayegee
Log Bewajah Udaasee Kaa Sabab Poochhenge

Ye Bhee Poochhenge Ke Tum Itnee Pareshaan Kyoon Ho
Oongliyaan Uthengee Sookhe Huye Baalon Kee Taraf

Ek Nazar Dekhenge Guzre Huye Saalon Kee Taraf
Choodiyon Par Bhee Kai Tanz Kiye Jaayenge
Kaanpate Haathon Pe Bhee Fikre Kase Jaayenge

Log Zaalim Hain Har Ek Baat Kaa Taanaa Denge
Baaton Baaton Mein Meraa Zikr Bhee Le Aayenge

Unakee Baaton Kaa Zaraa Saa Bhee Asar Mat Lenaa
Warnaa Chehre Ke Taasur Se Samajh Jaayenge

Chaahe Kuchh Bhi Ho Sawaalaat Naa Karnaa Unse
Mere Baare Mein Koi Baat Na Karnaa Unse
Baat Nikalegii To Phir Door Talak Jaayegee

Euphony

Not sure if this is ghazal ....equally soothing though.
Aan Milo Sajna.
PS0 :Of course it’s not a Ghazal duh!
PS1:Sounds from Hindustani classical and best suited for kathak.

Aaj Jane ki zid na karo , Womanizer

This Ghazal randomly stuck to me. The randomness is so apt J.
Truly in love with it. Have been gun gunaying since I heard it.
Will learn , record and upload .
Couldn’t find the pitch I would have loved to hear it in though .

Aaj Jane ki zid na karo by Farida khanum.
Higher pitch ( If you don’t have patience , listen to this instead.)
Lyrics.

And there is another addiction totally of opposite league.
Have been dancing to its tunes , since I heard it .
Womanizer- I know what you are by Britney spears .

PSo: There is a lot to write , but author may not have access to the basic amenities of the world wide web in coming weeks.
PS1: The farewell saga hopefully should come from a different land altogether .
PS2: One will be gone with the wind.
PS3: Koi to roke zara aur muskurakar kahey, Aaj Jane ki zid na karo.

Khuch Khaas Hai

I bet you can’t resist seeing it more than once .
Especially first one.

So what am I getting?Of course I won.
Oh! come on , hints are above.
Dimag ki bati jalee?
Arreh, all I want is a Cadbury. Show some generosity! at least for the sake of those forgotten commercials.

Concerts and such
Live music is like dessert to the ears .The gadgets just cannot create that magic.
We audienced Pandit Ravi Shankar and Anoushka Shankar’s sitar Jugalbandi concert.
The event witnessing who ‘s who of Hyderabad page 3 circuit , hosted at HICC Novotel and to our surprise was for free! .
May be the publicity was a clandestine affair :D.
A display somewhere said No to photography and Video(we read –silent video) and indulged in some minor audio recording .(To be published soon).
Never break rules !
And people who make them –Never assume !
Followed by Russian ballet –Jan 14(Over , gave a miss) and Rajat Kapoor ‘s play -Hamlet (Jan 24 ,check) .All for free!

Aptdc guys are attempting some serious and productive ways of promoting such events to gather dandier response from Hyd crowd , to catch up with Delhi-Mumbai-Bangalore metropolis culture.

So before such artistic events give rise to economic dependencies and require networking skills for paid passes , keep a watch on the hoardings for the ads .Silly ! not when you are driving or crossing .Silly , Silly ! you can always Google .

Ghazal from roomy and Marley

Oops! this is still popping up in your RSS?
voila the link works .
I remember .Tried 5 new strings but all are already taken , sob , sob :(.
Will be on the old address till a new/original URL is finalized .

Well nothing much though , have found another Ghazal - Ranjish hi sahi by Ahmed Faraz…………which on listening , bet one can’t stop appreciating (only if one has similar taste). Earlier, heard it in Anuradha Paudwal’s voice . Seems it was sung by many others , of which RunaLaila’s is a master piece .

Listen
Download

Wish you all a very Happy New Year .

PS0: Tried singing it.
PS1: Failed miserably . The ups and downs came out blunt n straight , just cannot get those waves .Was able to get the depth in the voice though .
PS2: Man! the lyrics are totally senti and touchy , not all decodable .Few Urdu words even thyself dint understood.

Btw, Wanna see how crazy Comet has been ? - Marley and Me
Good , didn’t read the novel , will see the movie now :D

Muzicals

Giving goose bumps to the forgotten classical senses .
Like sitting in a music concert and nodding your head surrendering to the excellence of musical nuances …which touches your soul .
Listen-Piya tora kaisa abhiman Shubha Mudgal from Raincoat.
Download female version from here and male version from here .

Baanwra Mann(Male) -Swanand Kirkire from Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi , on similar grounds .
Hindustani was learned decades back when thyself was incapable of writing it’s script , but was able enough to sing.

PS0 : This blog's URL is going to change in few days .Interested or frequent readers (if any.....hmmm........chuck the "modesty"…...if many ) can contact the author for the new link. Others can now rest in peace. Nope , this time it shall not be broadcasted unless asked for …..will lurk around some where in the world wide web.
One needs some space ,
the one who writes ....
the one who reads .

PS1:Label-the-posts bug has bitten me recently.
PS2:The same way add-tools-to-your-blog sting earlier. Resulting in decors like National Geographic Pod and Cheeky Quotes.

Music gets the best out of me.

Neel encouraged me, I brainwashed art and three of us joined Shaimak Davar’s summer funk dance classes. Neel the experienced one was placed in the advance batch. Myself and art the starters were taken into the beginner’s batch.

Pre-PS
-Nope, no loss of those extra kilos.
-Only our wallet lost all the weight .
-Yes, there were lots of cute boys.
-All of them were half our age.

Probably only our instructor Lester and his Assistant Bhavana (who talks in pancham sur ) were “just” elder to us. For our love for dancing we decided to let go of the luxury of un-hectic schedule. For two consecutive weeks every day we rushed  from office, escaping the early evening meetings and my boss’s just in time performance improvement discussions. Because of our lazy laid back attitude (read clever) we always reached 10 minutes late .The first 15 minutes was consumed by strenuous exercise and weird +funny warm up sessions which pulled and twisted every muscle in our already rhythmic bodies.
The dance forms we learned were- Hip-Hop, Jazz , Bollywood , Rock n Roll, etc . More practice to remember the steps took precedence over the last day assigned for Salsa.

The beginner’s batch majorly involved kids mostly the 10th class board exam pass out crowd. Few of them had this – richy rich, I am beautiful, big car, Banjara hills residence, posh lifestyle, powerful parent-attitude. The other few seemed more interested in their –schooly, mushy, shy, first crush,-girl meets boy and vice versa type activities. while the other few were quite chill, new age –we love increasing our network and love making friends. The best dancers of our group Mr. Am and Miss R really had oodles of energy levels, good posture, and the correct expressions to boast about. Am was the coolest and cutest of all .But as kids love seeking attention he kept on flaunting “ I am from IIT batch (read coaching classes)” as if he is going to be next big thing to happen to IIT…..When will people come out of the tag and the brand world?Anyways on the whole our batch was nice and happening.Oh! btw, nobody was ready to believe we were working .They all thought we were college goers .

The Advance batch gives me all spice to write about. It had -> hot chics ,the famous one ->Simjeet. Bi**** ->the famous one to whom Neel fondly called as “nakchadee” ,the instructor’s pet->Miss Le, Miss Le’s pets ,some unnoticeable, non-existent types our age group guys , one 50+ Uncle and others. Of controversies ->there were wardrobe malfunctions, cat fights, dislike for Lester, buttering Lester, the exposing costume issue and all. One thing in common was, all were fundoo dancers.Simjeet dominated the stage because of her expressive moves (few can read “figure”). Apparently our Neel became really good friend of hers. But she kept on cribbing as her talent went unnoticed because of Simjeet , positioned next to her in the dance sequence .

When, the most good natured and handsome guy asked me to join Salsa classes, I refused (I regret). When our Mr. fresher asked me to dance with him in the fresher’s party I refused (I regret) and now we get to dance with a partner who is half my age and half my height. Hehe ….poor me or poor kid ?

Stage performance is not new to me .My Analysis1 says -In pre- school we are fearless, in school we have stage fear (when the heart pumps loud), in college we have crowd fear (where any wrong move can give you a humiliating thumbs down) and later people grow par any fear with some residues of shyness of dancing in front of the people they are close to.
All’s well that ends well. The D day venue was Shilparamam.Unfortunately the same day I was down with fever and cold (which was later transferred to art in more severe form). There were so many groups from different centers of all possible age groups and journo performing .Off course the 0-4 yrs bachha party batch was the most entertaining.Beginners group performed on Music makes me lose control-Missy Elliot, Hip-Hop .Advance danced to the tunes of Dil Hara-Tashan, Bollywood style. Both were success.

Analysis2:On stage in a group dance if you are the only one dancing right and rest all are wrong, you still appear to be wrong -the spoil sport. And then there is always a case when you are actually wrong and so you appear, but the twist is again if you are placed in the center of the group, to audience it might appear to be a part of the choreography. As I was in front row i experience all above.
The one who can be a rocker in a DJ may not be as good here. One thing we learned is Shaimak dancing style is a group effort which requires lot of synchronization. The focus is not on an individual, its the forms and steps of all, woven together to create conjoined screen presence of art. High, powerful and well defined movements, with bright & smiling faces is what, required. During the classes we were exposed to all kinds especially of our inclination > Latin, Bollywood style matka n jhatkas with some pinches of Shakira moves . All’s well that goes well.

Gazal from Gandalf

Forgotten! Liked yet forgotten.

Got bored of all the songs on my system.Vaibh pointed to “Gandalf”, the server which also serves our entertainment hunger apart from the technical dependencies.

And there in kluelessdong internal reporter’s (past: klulessdong campaign manager’s) folder we found a treasure. An amazing Jagjit singh’s gazal which I loved, but somehow never persisted.

It’s not a typical one, !heavily loaded with Urdu words .It’s cute & simple to understand for aam junta.

Notice the way "bhool gaye " is used in 3rd and 4th line.I am loving it.
"Gun gunarahein hai hum,woh do liney ghadee ghadee".

Jab Saamnay Tum Aa Jaate Ho
(Duet Asha &Jagjit)
Debut music album of Riya Sen.

Here it goes.............................................

Aaina dekh ke bole yeh sanwarne wale
Ab to be-maut marenge mere marne wale

Dekhke tumko hosh mein aana bhool gaye
Yaad rahe tum aur zamaana bhool gaye

Jab saamne tum, aa jaate ho
Kya jaaniye kya ho jaata hai
Kuchh mil jaata hai, kuchh kho jaata hai
Kya jaaniye kya ho jaata hai

Chaaha tha yeh kahenge
Socha tha socha tha woh kahenge
Aaye woh saamne to, kuchh bhi na keh sake
Bas dekha kiye unhein hum

Dekh kar tujhko yakeen hota hai -2
Koi itna bhi haseen hota hai
Dekh paate hain kahan hum tumko dil kahin hosh kahin hota hai

Saath tum hogi jahan jayenge
Ham koi waqt nahin hain hamdam
Jab bulaaoge chale aayenge
jab saamne tum
Haa haa jab saamne tum, aa jaate ho
Kya jaaniye kya ho jaata hai
Kuchh mil jaata hai, kuchh kho jaata hai
Kya jaaniye kya ho jaata hai

No fun in reading the lyrics? Then Listen to it. The words take a new meaning when given some sur & taal. Those who are not impressed with the audio can try the video.
