Tremors , Tigers and Tommy

1.  Latur was my first and Friday night was my second experience with night earth quake tremors.First time, i felt it was a dream and a big rat is moving my bed vigorously (you know a kid i was then). We ran downstairs .
This time it wasn't thaaat shaky  and i wondered - is it  those newly married couple moved in below flat  or is it  heavy duty trucks passing by the main road , triggering.
We didn't ran  ( do not invest in skimpy night wear , never know when you gotta run for your life)  and sat with my handbag ready  and eventually crashed into sleep.

2.  Save tigers and spread awareness .Fine, how ? by liking pages on FB , wearing "Aircel" sponsored t-shirts ,interviewing celebrities who talk page 3 crap "Ya we should all  join hands against it ",   talk big words , post fancy posters  , show senti videos... etc etc and spread cognizance. Bullshit !
Yeah, i did the same without actually being aware, went with the flow.
Where are stats? where is actual  information ? Is it  reaching the people who can do something about it? Forest officials , law makers and traders .They don't  use the same channels through which we usually  campaign.Sigh

The Indian add campaigns though highly creative and touchy are not demographic(just look at Nat Geo videos). Here the irony is ,to appeal  and to reach  the masses they are tailored to be more  emotional than informative .Vicious!
The intention is genuine and right and may be working to certain extent -to reach out in numbers , but with all this noise  in the media and networks  i still felt  ignorant  until i saw this AWESOME National  Geography  documentary  on TV where an undercover agency EIA busted the whole trade .Now this is what i call awareness to the point. The idea is to make the right noise.

Tiger population dropped more than 70 % in a decade because of  poaching  for below quoted illegal trading reasons , carried out in enlarged scale.
So what exactly are they being  killed for beyond food chain cycle norms?
  •  Tiger skin- sought for  home decor, taxidermy, bribery and as  traditional clothing by  Chinese  and Tibet communities .Single skin can cost from 12000 to  20,000 $
  • Tiger bones - used in ancient Chinese medicine .In spite of ban  flows freely in the markets  .
  • Tiger tooth - For Astrological myths.
  • The most shocking - again tiger skin - used as official dress in some regiments of Chinese military .Apparently military officials are their top customers.
Maximum percentage of consumer countries belong to  Mekong region . Middle agents revealed 95% of supplies are imported  illegally from India. One Middle man  quoted "India is a poor country and law here is easy to break . We find it easier to sneak in and leverage locals to get the suff ".

A lot more.Unfortunately  i am unable  to find the film on net :(

3.  So what was i sooo happy to see on my return to Bangalore?
RV apartment fellows have  got two sniffer Labradors  for security .They nest in front of the gate so i get to see them day and night from my balcony. In two days i have already visited them  6 times and secretly fed them :D

Subcounciou's Dreamy Conversation

I haven't been dreaming since long .
I actually stopped , "i guess" (you know cannot trust the memory that too while sleeping) ,

Conscious decision of reduced FBing has helped. On the contrary it makes all people updating it mindlessly round the clock look completely stupid ,silly .Lonely souls of the crowd.
(yup, readers are free to  wonder "look who is talking").

Now the twist is , i had a day dream today. One has recently acquired day napping habit at home.

The dream was about ?
FB

What?
Yes, i was FBing

Can you elaborate?
There were around 10 notifications.I was tagged in a crazy birthday party video from college days. Then i was tagged in some random photos by a person whom i don't know and he is not in my friend list .This left me pretty curious .
And ya, one of my closest friend finally decided to give a human touch to her profile , by uploading her profile picture.
There were some you-tube videos, some links etc etc etc.....

Then?
Well ,i wanted to get up and quickly log-in  to find out about that guy tagging me crazily  and hmm and  ummmm ,then I got up.
(mom ranting  in the background)

Oh , so you realized that you  were dreaming and wanted to get-up??
Strangely , yes towards the end i realized i was not plugged and got this urge to login and remove tags

Remove tags?So you still thought , all those notifications , tagging you saw in dream actually happened?
Yes and yet i realized i was not connected , though in the dream i was.

I guess you have taken Inception seriously , have you?
Too grown up to take movies seriously .They need to be highly disturbing to churn some emotions.

Honey , you need some FBing
Nah, i rather blog it out.Let the control last atleast till today.

PS0: Apart from becoming  little psycho , i have harmed my beloved.
PS1: Stamped on the mobile in such a way that the inside screen layer  has cracked and the liquid is trapped below the top layer. In short i have given it a nice blotty blood clot.
PS2:Hibernation period is about to end.

Lost Words

Where author dedicates and narrates death of a writer .
And draws wordy inspiration (or continuation ?) from  her own  previous write up .

Ab khaan log pochatey hain,
Ki tum  likhatey kyun nahi.
Kisi ke poochey likhoon ,
Mein esa bhi to nahi .

"Kuch to log kahenge",
Kabi, kisi shayar ne kaha tha,
Aur kisi ne kaha,
"Naam gum jayega", kabhi.

Kya chodoon , jo rahey mere baad,
Aur kya le jaoon apney saath.
Kya geet banaigey kisi awaaz ki pehchan,
Ya reh jaengey gumnaam , woh alfaaz.

Ab khaan log pochatey hain ,
Ki tum kuch  likhatey kyun nahi.

In Devanagari for better transliteration:-

Mama ,Take Me Home

Mist has cleared
Reality beckons
No longer it is hunky-dory,
the world looks fierce.
........Mama take me home

Trusts are broken
Faith is shaken
They snob against me.
"They" - the pretentious and fake,
.......Mama take me home

I have sailed through this earlier
And conquered soo merrier.
One is left with no might , this time
to stand up and  fight .

 .....left alone, to self .
The "self"- bothers me even more,
Mama , just take me home .

 take me home.

-Yours truly

PS1: And there can be another poem from mama's side, like "Ma little baby, come home" hehehe , hoho
PS2: hmmmmmmm
PS3: Still......mama take me home :(
PS4: Damn!!! , there is already a song with tag line "mama take me home" .Oh my dangerous sub-conscious mind , never remembers what its supposed to .
PS5: I still take the copy rights for the content.

In Happiness

Summer Of 2010

Winters will benumb
Rains will be stormier
Everybody is leaving this summer
Everybody......

Some will cross the seas
And some will head home
While one will wheeze
That sinking feeling, alone

Everybody is leaving this summer
Everybody..........

I know what it takes to be sad when you are supposed to be happy .
I know,
They happen to come together
Neither one after the other ,nor one before,
Negating  the effects ,
It colors me ,neutral .
I wish, I knew ,
What it takes to be happy when you are supposed to be sad .

PS and etc.....

PS0 : And we revisit  Law of conservation of flab
Author is loosing , for a change "weight".
Nice feeling it is ,not sure how long will it last .However this has lead  me to proudly don the swimwear and jump in the pool. But err......just jumping won't help , i cannot swim.
Archimedes before patenting buoyancy  just forget to evaluate it with mass of ma kind.

PS1 : The DKOM dev meet was mostly  tiny-little-brain-bombarded with information-overload . Information mostly being industry buzz words than actual core stuff.
As one is already working on cloud computing , nothing impressed me more than the speaker himself ;).
Fida on Guru.
One was soooo checking him out .
He soooo noticed one checking him out .
That's it , end of the story ! turns out he is sooooo married ,ouch.
Got  safely registered  in fan , admirer category.

PS2 : IIM B Prof. Dr Y.L.R Murthy's speech made  my day1
Swarathma  the Indian band made my day2 .I think this was one of their first successful "corporate" shows which sucks otherwise.

They hit the right nerve of the audience with contemporary rock bhajan kind of music garnished with humorous  bhojpuri comments , namma kannad songs , Telugu  sprints & Kabir dohe in  DJ style  .
It had  kailash kher raw touch.

Anjaan

Ok , I suffer from  this.
It originated silently in high school .
It  multiplied in College
It vanished later depending on the targets (I thought so)
But, seems ,it still prevails minutely.

People who don’t know me originally, perceived that I am rude and have attitude ...... completely opposed to people who know me.
And those strangers really wondered ”is she really friendly , witty and such synonyms” ?

while friends wondered how can they question her  bubbly-ness.

All because of just one behavior of mine “ignore” popularly  known as “Anjaan marna”.
Especially to species hailing from mars !

After analysis and feedback from the victims(who dared to question me -why are you ignoring ?)  author has come up with  below  symptoms of  ignore-mania .
  1. I really really did not notice the person
  2. It  happens unknowingly
  3. I actually want to ignore the person
  4. I really hate the person
  5. I really love the person.
  6. I am lost at times even when there is an eye contact.
  7. At times I don’t care ........is it really necessary to say hi-bye every other hour ?

So Martians , kindly ignore this ignore-mania .

PS0: Interested readers can contact to  find out which category they fall in :P
PS1:Figuring it out is hard , as I give same expression for all 7 types :D

Original Plan

Day1 : Bangalore( 4pm) to Shimoga(10pm)
Day2 : Shimoga (7am) – Jog Falls(9:30am-12:30am) – Murudeshwara – (2pm-3pm) – Kollur (5pm-6:30pm) – Kamalashile (8:00pm)

Old Railway Tracks at Kudremukh

Jog Falls while descending down 1388 steps

Actual , deviated plan
Day1 : We reached at 12 midnight instead.
Day2 : Skipped Murudeshwara and Kollur and decided to stay at Jog falls .
Day3 : Skipped Agumbe and visited Malpe beach on public demand.
Day4 : All bones Intact and reached Bangalore .

 Malpe Beach ,Udupi->

Perfect Camping  Site At Kudremukh

Sharadamba temple, Sringeri

PS0: Not crazy enough  to remember the exact timing and minute details after traveling for three consecutive days in a minivan and visiting public loos .So deal with the brief-point-wise info. Else Google.

Random facts from the trip

1. 13kms prior to Shimoga we landed with flat tire.

2. At Jog falls the water appeared lesser than Hogenakkal .But the sheer height of 900 ft compensated it all.

3. It took us 1388 steps plus 30 minutes of rock climbing to reach near  foot of the fall. All that sweat was worth it.

4. My way up left me dehydrated resulting in puking. Note :Do not drink nimbu-pani or lots of pani in one take when exhausted. Sipping in intervals is advisable.

5. kamalashile was my first encounter with caves ,cave bats and spring water.

6. Kudremukh is a place worth revisit and deserves camping .Apparently 1 tiger from here added to that 1411 count.

7. Anthony , our driver was a die hard MJ fan . 2hours of MJ music , live shows , Billie Jean , thriller kept the DVD player and us busy during the journey .

8. Later Jane bhi do yaroo , Chaltee ka naam gaddi , Bombay to Goa entertained us . You know the usual Dumbsy(here I was made to act for 40 movies!) , Antakshri ,Guess the personality, were not enough to cover long travel-couch-potato hours.

9. The journey indeed fulfilled the nature thirst of the quest.

10. Continue to admire the photos.

The Hilly Landscape of Kudremukh

Kudremukh Fencing

Kamalashile Caves , Spot the Bats

PS1: Composing travel logs induces boredom in me.
PS2: The remedy is to post scenic pics along.
PS3: Btw , this is an old-incomplete draft , coming to life now.
PS4: Obliviously , boss is on leave, yipeeeeeeeee and product is released.

Har Ghar Kuch kehta hai

And nostalgia seeps in .
Hyd home bound good-bye was already pending and S’s moving-on post below has rubbed the yearning yet again .

"A month and a half to go before I leave this place. Will miss each and every little moment I spent here. Right from the moment I walked in and was swept off my feet by this place to the times I have spent in my Balcony overlooking the dimming city lights and incoming morning at 5:30 AM! But most of all I shall miss all the time which I spent with the two most awesome roomies possible on the planet! The goof ups, the cooking and finding the mobile inside the fridge!! :D”

I said - "so much more will be missed the cap-less bottles , Victoria secrets ,
Tarot cards , shopping regrets
Gossip sessions , cooking lessons
Chicken curry ,  pudina paneer
Scramble egg, chair pegs
Movies , books thrill
Internet and Electricity bill,
Long RV walks , beside the swimming pool talks ,
…….. the book- shelf will be empty without you , so will be our hearts.
btw , you forgot belan in fridge"

PS0: Yeah, our "cold" fridge has seen it all :)
PS1: FB  must provide export-thread-to-blog option, na ?
Indeed time flies . It has been over 10 months since I left Hyd, since I left my old-self  to be a new-self which again will eventually fade away.
I graduated from that clumsy 2 bhk to a  furnished 3 bhk .From  that bloody psycho *&^%$# owner who never returned the advance to the one who never bothers to a ping us for Monthly rent.
Well ,I don’t exactly miss much .Frankly speaking  my memories are too faint to miss anybody or anything for that matter .But its that moment when people bid adieu - a sinking feeling quietly oozes in.
But as they say people make places . I will always cherish the multi – lingual , multi-cultural, multi- cuisine , unify-friendly experience i had /have with my  UPite ,Andhra , Marathi ,  Bong and Tam roomies .And if you leave the origins apart it was and is a family away from family .

S stayed for few months and is a ribbon friend from school days .Amidst all cooking ,school revamp  ,skype-ing, girly fun , chatting , partying, wedding preps and packing  ....we forgot that the only photo we clicked together is in lacy corsets!

I know you loved the home more that us :P, drama queen!
But the tears shed and the bye-bye hugs  definitely were , as emotional as the ones happening  on your bidai .
I say,  there was more drama going inside than outside :)

She completed, bonded  us and  the home together .
Now , some random left out papers, empty cosmetic bottles fill the dreaded silence of that room .Tomorrow the maid will clean that as well.

PS2: Sayonara .

Marasim

-By Gulzar

shaam se aankh mein nami si hai
aaj phir aapaki kami si hai

dafn kar do hamein ke saans mile
nabz kuchh der se thami si hai

vaqt rahtaa nahin kahin tik kar
iski aadat bhi aadami si hai

koyi rishtaa nahin rahaa phir bhi
ek tasalim laazami si hai

You Tube ,  music video is too cliche , as i always recommend -just listen .

PS1: Well, then , i can read poetry.

Turning Point

Us mod se har koi guzarta hai
Koi sambhal ke girta hai
Koi gir gir ke sambhalta hai
Par us mod se har koi guzarta hai

  -Yours truly

Author's confession :-
I can't read poetry  !
It takes a lot of patience for me to  ideally read anything , but poetry  requires yet another level of that "patience" .One still tries and is very selective .
It's good in a way , coz if i would have read a lot , a lot would have quietly  seeped into my creations.
Not that , that kind of seepage doesn't  happen now. But in a knowingly unknown way with minute  contamination.
But as long as there are finite words and an even more finite vocabulary of mine  , the words will repeat them self's , but in every fold with a new meaning , with a new  emotion , with new inspiration , with a new conclusion .
From a new beginning to a new destination .They will travel and continue to flow whether they get absorbed or not ,they will continue to flow in this infinite space.

Because now i know , it doesn't take a dictionary to be poetic.

PS0: hmmmm
PS1: Ok,
PS2: hmmmmm , well
PS3 Fine , the end!!
PS4: Ya, read the sher again , for a new meaning  and it might enlighten in every re-read :)

Kuch Likhatey Kyun Nahi

Kaagaz ki bani ,kalam gaddar
Syahi na jaye panno ke par
Aur log pochatey hain ,
Ki tum likhtey kyun nahi

Bekhudi se nikal
Ayi mein hoshwaloan ki kagar
Sukhe asu, jhootey armaan
Na koi arzoo, na koi intezar
Aur log poochatey hain,
Ki tum likhatey kyun nahi

Roothi nazamien ,naraz hain alfaz
Kaise bunu mein, abb lafzo ke  jal
Aur log poochatey hain , ki tum .......kuch likhatey kyun nahi?

-Yours sincerely , Clueless

PS: While i thought i was over poetry and can no longer compose , this(above) happened .

So That Author Continues To Blog

So , before the day one of the new decade ends ,let me do  what blogger tend to do traditionally -> wish you all a very  happy new year(s) .

Yeah,  motivation levels are all time down.Trust me , it takes only Me to pump it back.Myself need to help to find that Me

No , author  is not running out of ideas  .There are still 4 travel logs to be jolted down and so many  drafts lying in  folders , sub - folders, mail box , blogger ... here and there waiting to be edited and posted etc , etc .Ok , let me not go the diary-confession-way .Lets talk and be optimistic .You know after all it's Jan1st , kids are told " what you do today , you end up doing same every day" .But then all that is to trick  kiddos to stay good at least for a day na . hehe. Hmmm , Hmmm whatever!

Oh , yes ! the 31st night was like - We want to go out -We really want to-But places are like super expensive -We check for movie tickets -But there are other useless people who prefer to watch movie on 31st, idiots!  -Don't they  have to party or perhaps do something else ?-So no tickets-We call Fame manager for tickets -He replies i just resigned , useless fellow ! -  Author already  down with cold and fever- But we still want to go out -Then it starts raining heavily , more than seasonal one -And then ma sandals break while crossing the flooded (partly with gutter)roads-We try our luck at traditional local theater - And Bang on !

Nope the story is not over yet.We get inside , the screen is like just-large- than an LCD TV .We order snacks  which ends up being  toooooo spicy and the juice bought for compensation  was like toooooooo sweet.

Noho , not yet .Not without moral .Their is an own masses ~charm to watch movie in  a good-old style  theater with people clapping , whistling , reacting with the flow with ohhhs -aaaahhhs - hahahas-hohohos- ewwww-ufffffs-hmmmmm.

aaall izzzz well.

PS1:  It was 3 Idiots .
PS2: No , no review here .Arreh filum dekho,  enjoy karo , stop being opinionated and judgmental about every damn thing on earth !.
PS3 : But for sake of it.It was fun , if you are ready to take it , Not great though ,  but some  sequences left us LOL.Try living in moment I say .
PS4: Of course in all this we had fun .
PS5: We kind of end up making  misery equivalent to adventure .
PS6: All in good times.
PS7: HAPPY NEW YEAR , i mean it this time , really :)
PS8: Duh , this was so diary-way only :D
