Real to Reel.

They all ran, wrapped in long meters of silk .Nandini for Samir , hitting everything which came on the way , all those brass articles, endless satin red curtains , through the huge mansion , burning her dupatta on the way.

Paro for Devadas in a red bordered white saree, rippling behind……calling “deva..oh deva re…deva….………..”.Again smashing the brass articles and yes there was some fire here as well , doing some burning admix those red curtains, through those twist and turns & long passages of the haveli.

Sakina for Imran( twice), this time the long hair waved along with the white Lahanga in the first sequence and a black one in the second shot with all that peacock blue backdrop , smoothly and swiftly towards her love. They all ran as if there is no tomorrow.

(Hope I could have created audio and visual effect with my writing L unfortunately I lack the skill.)

Well these are the common acts of some of the Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s creations with luxurious & magnificently detailed backdrops. Namely -Hum Dil De Chuke sanam , Devadas, his latest flop Saawariya.

If unable to recollect have a look at them on youtube. They all are similar.

Wonder why dint he made Michelle run in Black.
Movies were released, some appreciated, some bombed at box office and then gone. The Actress enacting the sequences changed from Ash to Sonam…..But what remained was the character. There’s a bit of Nandini, Paro ,Sakina in each other …at least till the characters were on the papers , in the scripts , in the mind.

Every Director’s or may be writer’s movies we see has something in common. I am not talking about the typical bollywood formulas or categories or camps or the style or the things which are retained deliberately or automatically. This is all about a personal touch, a deep unsaid emotion, an unfulfilled ambition, a message, a rebel, learning, preaching, an experience, a lost love, a dream…. Which the person was unable to live through in real life is portrayed in the reel life.

Yes , movie making is an industry, it is money making, and it is business,it's showbiz!!. But it is also an art –a craftsman’s creation, a visionary’s vision, a mother’s baby, a never ending search and drive for lost past & unseen future.

This one is much better, took some time to recollect Nandini & Sameer but as soon as Paro came in the picture, it was quite obvious. The Run-Scenes could have more lines. The observation of running scenes in all Bhansali's films was a new thing for me. I have not noticed it myself (have not seen Sanwaria). Overall a good attempt to portray Bhansali's vision.

(Abhinaw) yeah wanted to give those running scenes a better visual effect..but as I said …lack the skill. If u don’t remember them have a look on youtube.
(Ajit) reach of my thoughts?..naah they are observations. This blog is not a review :(

PS:Well this was not Bhansali’s vision, neither a review nor a comment on his Latest movie. I guess you guys are not reading the ending of my blogs. The actual content lies there….. at the end.
