?.....

How long has it been that you actually cried out LOUD.
Loud enough to pour out all that made your heart sink and feelings drown?
How long has it been that you actually laughed out LOUD.
Loud enough to pain your stomach and your breath loose its count?
How long?
All you do is shed a few drops and wipe it quickly to hide.
All you do is pose a “say cheese” smiles and again seamlessly hide.

Ohh common don’t sob or giggle, emote it out.
Cry like a baby, laugh like a baby.

We have lost the art of crying. We want to but cannot.
Not that there is no pain. There is ! , a lot of pain, no wonder we want it all out.
We have lost the art of laughing .We want to but cannot.
Not that there is no bliss. There is !, a lot of bliss, no wonder we want to express

Search within you. Its not, all that mess.

Ohh common don’t sob or giggle, emote it out
Cry like a baby, laugh like a baby,

PS1: Wow can this be a song? hmmmm it will be difficult to tune this. Each sentence is really long.
PS2: Rhythm comes easily while composing a song with shorter sentences and connecting words.
PS3: Let it be a poem. Leave it in its raw state.
PS4: This was my quickest creation: D
PS5: Yes there will be a post on my Dance classes .There is a LOT to write.
PS6: Good news- They have positioned me in the first row, Bad news- in the corner , beside a kid bohoooo.
PS6: Whatever is the case I am forgetting my steps.
PS7 : I have no clue or reason to justify the title.

Hermitage Trip- The Bear hill trek

We took rest for an hour and got ready for the “stamina test” which is mandatory for all the guests who are interested in trekking. David the examiner, the guide and the owner of the place is supposedly living in this place for past 28 years. Abhi-k the muscle man of our group took panga with David on the very first day. He started making big claims “we can easily do a 25 km trek, we have run the marathons, we are gym ppl….etc….”, The next two days involved heavy leg pulling of Abhi-k by David (wonder what grudge the whole host family developed against him).

Of all this I was trying hard to find a way to get introduced to the dogs. And the wish was full filled, with just initial sniffing and staring they came near me without barking. The ice was broken and we became friends. Of Badmash (the kid), Bahadur(the brother) and skully (the mother) , Badmash (one with red collar belt in the pics) was the most friendly one.

Before starting for the bear hill trek (read stamina test) one contender i.e. Ajit (Casualty no. 1) surrendered. He had stomach upset and was lying on the bed. Decision was made to go without him also he was really not well and needed rest. We started at around 5 pm with David leading us through the trails. The initial half climb was quite easy because of the enthu and quest to reach the top. After every fifteen minutes David use to stop to give us some flora-fauna gyaan. On the way we saw various kinds of insects, parasitic trees, and non-parasite yet clinging together trees, Bear homes, Termite hills, birds and shit of some animals. Stop giggling; in jungles animal shit (& water sources) are real important signs of predicting their presence nearby. But as we were talking aloud and making lot of noise, we dint encounter a single Bear, Jaguar or Leopard.

I was really exhausted after 40 minutes .The uphill trek was quite tough for me. Moreover the jungle became thicker with more thorny bushes and trails/path was also gone. Suddenly we were amidst a huge colony of insects wandering in all directions. From one of the David’s gyaan session- These insects population is on rise as they feed on bamboo flowers. All bamboo flowers heavily only once in their life time and dries off to die. This phenomenon (gregarious bamboo) happens every 45 years, where the entire bamboo plantation dries off to rejuvenate again in 10 years.
Phew after passing the last stage in an hour we were on top of the bear hill, Hurray! .It was an awesome sight .The beautiful sunset and tanned +exhausted yet cheerful trekkers were captured in cams in various moods. After taking some rest we headed back as it was getting dark.
Just before reaching Mini (Casualty no 2) twisted her ankle very badly while descending down. Luckily we were very near to the guest house and a jeep was brought for her.

PS2 story:

Under the starry sky .Amidst the faded moon light .Around the born fire sight,
She gave a sweet chocolaty smile.
He couldn’t say much, was mesmerized.
Just admired and was listening to her ….
Hoping –“oh god please hold the time”.
Suddenly the spell was broken! Friends appeared strangers, as they arrived.
But there was another heart - broken, of jealousy it cried.

She-Katz, He-Ajit, Another heart-Sid.

That roughly sums up the scene when Abhi-W, Amanchi, Sid arrived at the guest house to pick up the rescue jeep for mini and saw Ajit and katz chatting around the born fire. She immediately left when the kabab mein haddies came.
Some of us missed the scene and arrived later with injured Mini. On return we realized none of us carried proper medicines (as everybody assumed that somebody will carry, but nobody did). After Mini’s ankle examination which was swollen badly , it was declared as sprain .Actually we all feared hair line crack but were trying to cheer her up as nothing much could have been done late night in middle of jungle with no network connectivity. Volini was massaged and Aspirin was taken as a workaround.

Later that night on enquiry, Ajit started revealing things. How they lighted 10 + Laltans together (He was not in a state to get up from bed in morningJ).How he was specially taken care of the whole day. Which he claims to be hospitality.

“Katz has done her schooling in a boarding at Ooty , Is currently pursuing PhD in Australia , Wants to visit Bihar, Will Visit Hyderabad, loves this place, likes this, hates that, wants to marry soon and have kids , blah blah.................... “She told him every damn thing. You call this hospitality? One thing I must say Ajit u are a chuppa rustham-Kuddos.
And Sid you are positive. Instead of “ dost dost na raha” kinds , he was trying to help her out clearing dining table , switching off Laltans (read impress). She kept on refusing for any help from his side and he still tried , flaunting his 10 k run t-shirt and Mumbai 42k run achievement in the backdrop.
Poor Sid seldom he knows some girls don’t care how many kms you run. You should be capable of running a household. But Don’t worry katz is definitely not of that category-You should just be capable of running a household in a Jungle.

PS: Enough has been written about this trip. No more posts.
PS1: Ajit plzzzzzzzzzzzz ignore the PS2 content .That’s written just for fun.
PS2: Read the poem again ……slowly
PS3: hmmmmmm1
PS4: hmmmmmm2
PS5: I am running out of ps statements: D
PS6: hey, but nobody has written about the river trek, where I was left all ALONE in the middle of the jungle by a group of “Gentleman’s “.
PS7: Yes that’s supposed to be sarcastic.
PS8: The end.
PS9: Oh btw I was tagged Future Casualty no 3, coz of my alluring twists and falls. Luckily I wasn’t hurt.
PS10: hmmmmmm3, Fine ! The End .Packa.

Hermitage Trip-The Arrival

April 5th, 6th, 7th, a long weekend was heading and I was in no mood to stay at home.
Phantom plans were made for Kerala >Munnar, Thekkedy , Allepey ;Banglore>Manglore ; Vizag>Araku and Sakaleshpura.Every other day my browser had around 5+ tabs opened to R&D and visualize these places. All failed to kick start due to various reasons. However, I was destined to travel and eventually Belgaum trip started taking shape.

A group of seven people > MiniY, Abhi-k,Abhi-w,Amanchi, Billu, Sid( aka TeofKap) & myself decided to venture out in the nature. We all walked down to Begumpet station on 4th evening and boarded the Rayalaseema express sleeper coaches. All through the journey the "traditional" antakshri was played.Later Billu , his radioic Nokia & Abhi-W entertained us with Mukesh, Rafi ,& Kishore’s songs.Other half of journey was consumed by playing cards.

We reached Belgaum on 5th morning around 12 PM.Boarded the prebooked jeep and started towards Hermitage guest house-Khanapur, located 45kms from the railway station. On the way we made our “Reached safely” home calls and enjoyed the small town peaceful looks of Belgaum.

After an hour or so we were off the main road, into the woods.
After 15 minutes, we were on the bumpy kachha rasta and in more denser area of the woods.
After another 10 minutes all of us feared - are we kidnapped? The “rasta” altogether was gone & we were sneaking deeper into the jungle.Among all of us only MiniY was the kidnapable entity. She was the one carrying all the money and having a 600 $ SLR cam. While others were the inutile ones with just 2 digi-cams and comparatively less or nil money in their pockets. To our relief we saw some kind of fencing (apparently it was electrical) and a way towards small gate.

Welcome to Hermitage guest house.

The next moment made my day and spoiled others: D. Three unchained ferocious beasts-Dobermans greeted us with their loud barks (they were shhoooo shweeet) and off course the actual hosts David, Morvarid (the wife) & Katrina (the daughter) welcomed us.

Hermitage is a well-appointed and secluded working farm set amidst the lush forests of the Western Ghats. If you are a Wildlife enthusiast or Nature Watcher, keen on Birding in India, a Nature Photographer, enjoy Trekking, or just simply love the outdoors, then the Hermitage is a perfect holiday destination .It is a small family run concern offering you an individual service.

The whole area (including few farms) is surrounded by electrical fences (900 V not sure of this figure) for protection from wild animals .The residential area has three independent units named “The Machan”- Tree house, “The Kadaba”-Village home, “The Gota”-rural cottage ( only one with attached bathroom). And a common dinning lounge.
Machan and Kadaba have open air bathrooms. Though the rooms from outside appeared like village huts, inside they were fully furnished and very well decorated with authentic showpieces. There was detailing to everything and all was so theme oriented. The open air bathing interior was nothing less that a 5 start hotel setup with all pipelines, water supply ,commode, tiles and drainage system in tact.In short the place had all the comforts of city and earthiness of a village.

We all loved the place at first sight. We explored our surroundings, did some photo shoots and finally settled down to have lunch. The food was yummy- Solomon fish, corn salad, brown rice, juice, vegetables all was cooked in different styles by Mori.
Later, on return it was all shown on the weighing machine.

PS: Three more posts to come on this trip, namely

1 of those 6.

Google Transliteration rocks!
Google Transliteration sucks at times. It’s impossible to get chotee ee ki matra in that and the result follows. Half of the urdu/Hindi words(especially with half letters, matraas and other such complication) might tend to mean something else. Hence it’s highly recommended to use your language optimization and Hindi grammar correction skills before reading the content below below.

Microsoft Outlook spell check rocks!
Blogspot spell check sucks!( client/customer side testing !, nobody can test /use it more or better)
Blogspot Language converter ...........! (Read dash) haven’t used so no idea.

So the tools I have used to come with this post are :-
MS Outlook mail , Google Transliteration, to some extent MSword.Well the blogspot editor was just used to assemble various content from above places.Damn! I need some outsourcing to be done here.

Arz kiya hai...........

The day after Friday

It all started in April 2007 and still going strong ,only that now filtered (& genuine people remain).

Main Members : MiniY, Sid, Kiddo, Vim (Thakur…I find this very raw hence “Vim” ),Billu, Abhi-K, Abhi-W,CC (Acronym of his real nick name at IIT-k) & Myself .
Ohh lately the new regular freshy R-Dhika.

Ex- members : Sree, Amanchi , Jas( who left  because of “family calling “) and last but not the least whom I miss the most- the footer ball.

Initial Crowd : Sas3, DP, S-tosh & others

The “Saturday Club” foundation was laid in April 2007. It was initiated by some health freaks and it was decided to gather  at Vim’s place every Saturday and walk down to Necklace road to run and Jog.Though for me it was always walking.
There are two theories behind this.
Theory One : The Zara Hatake Group .This was also started in April 07, where the members grouped up to give birthday treats in every two months. As they say “Kuch pane ke liye Kuch khona padata hai”. The condition was we all have to complete some ** (was it 100 kms ?) of running or walking by end of * months  in order to consume the free food. A proper schedule was chalked out in an excel sheet buy Abhi-k and the print out was pinned on to our boards. It did lead to some controversies and revolt by few. As it was not a compulsion, interested people did turn up. While the The Zara Hatake Group group dissolved in few months, the Saturday club evolved.

Theory Two : As a practice for the Hyderabad Marathon 2007 and the Mumbai Marathon 2008 and the  Hyderabad Half Marathon 2006.
We all were warming up for these events?Really ?
Another reason was off course the encouragement and pushing by the highly diet & health & muscle conscious  Abhi-K.
For me it was nothing less than a big challenge .Naah… not the running or walking .One can build up stamina for that with regular practice, the pain was to get up early morning at 5- 5:30 types that too on Saturdays, where we all know Fridays are known for party, late night movies, night out gupshup and such.I am not a morning person neither a night person, i go for hibernation not sleep.Trust me,long ago  in my +2 I refused to join physics or any tuition class  just because the timings were around 5:00 -5:30 am (which gave me fever during my initial trial days).
Habits change!
Time: 5:10 AM
Location: Begumpet
Day: Saturday
The alarm rings @ homes of some crazy people (as others find ).I am one among them.I search the loudly ringing phone usually below my cot, switch it off with my one eye half open. Peep out of the window and think - its too dark outside , probably I can catch up with few more minutes of that precious sleep and off course complete at least the climax of my dream. Then again the phone rings not the alarm. Its the wake up call from
MiniY : Are you up?
Me : Ya ya I woke up: D
MiniY:  I will start in 5 minutes, will be there at your place.
I jump out of my bed, fresh up, slip into my running shoes (the one which I bought for Hyd 2006 run shelling some 2000 bucks. They were resting, unused in the closet for months …yahoo got a golden chance to use them regularly now.)
Then wait downstairs for MiniY.Other members like R-dhika and Sid too avail the generous bus service.
By whatever means (off which includes the Harley-Davidson ishhtyle bi-cycles oops i mean "bikes" of Kiddo and Sid) we all reach Vim’s place , start towards NR through the tracks and start the run /walk, come back to lake view park ,do some stretching exercises , the usual gupshup and then head way back to home usually by 7 -7:30 AM.
Initially I thought,we will go for few days and once the enthu dies off will skip. But eventually it became a part of the weekly routine. We started loving it. The time spent there amidst the early morning rising sun, cold lake breeze (hmm arrrhh…..not always), the greenery around , the birds ,the cute pie doggies , the body getting exercise, chai pani+ occasional pakodee and those humorous talks…..who am I to say no to all this? People might think what difference it makes doing exercising once a week, hey at least we “started doing” this though once a week. Something is better than nothing!
Since April 07 till Jan 08 all we did is walking and running ?? nope.We played games, mainly “The Ball” (The Beach Volley minus the beach replaced by the lake, minus the volley). We happen to find a court along side Hussain Sagar which later hosted the “Asian Circuit Beach Volley Ball Hyd 07”.Our Usual meet up time 5:45 AM was further changed to 5:30 Am (what a torture!!) so that we can occupy the court before other players use it.Yes, the guilt did seep in , we were depriving the professional players from practicing to satisfy our victory in a childish version of net ball game. Then footer and beech ka bandar , dodgeball kind of went for few more days i.e as long we had the court , the ball and the zeal to do so . Every Friday where others used to plan up their Friday night parties, this group inquired, ensured availability of its members the next morning. Anyways, later the access to the court was shut down so was our game. The ball too stopped coming. I ask why o why we stopped this? me crying ,sobbing.
The next season was full of drizzles, cloudy weather, breezy mornings, garma garam chai ki pyalee –pakodee sessions, nil running, only reduced kms of walking, more fun and relaxing .We started having tea breaks at eat street, more frequently at Vims’s place courtesy Jass, once “extended” pakodee (onion, potato, bread) treat at my place and off course the very well pre-pre -planned at CC, Abhi-W’s place which never kicked off.
The gupshup time also increased ,which always included one funny incident of CC’s life- be it learning how to ride cycle or hostel ragging, narrated with all emotion and actions.
The real and some serious running started only when the marathon days were nearing.
While the veteran runners –Sid, Kiddo, Abhi-K did the whole Hussian sagar lake circle and slowly incremented their targets to 10, 16, 18, 20…even 30km ….
The new running enthusiasts MiniY , Vim, CC, Billu extended beyond their limits..each was successful to almost complete the round >8 km .what did I do during all this?
Always made sure on Fridays that there is somebody to accompany me for walks the next day and vice versa, carried water, nutrition bars for the serious runners , of which half was consumed by me- they accuse me of that :(
Extended my walking limits to 6 kms and the best - was able to break  only my own chota record of running continuously at high speed for 10 minutes (earlier it was 40 secs, 3 min, 5 min) with extra kilos, on treadmill.
The D-day arrived- Hyd Marathon 2007 (10 KM).We all completed that successfully.
The surprise participants were the “Initial crowd” members -Sas3, Dp ,Vaibh & others who fully utilized the whole purpose of lake road being used for marathons, by spending some “picnic moments” at the lake side gardens.Yet completed the marathon.
The D day for serious runners was the Mumbai Marathon 08,

21(half) km –Kiddo, MiniY
42 (full) km -Sid
Here the surprise pack was MiniY completing 21 km without ever practicing beyond 10-11km at one go and remote running at Hyd by Abhi-k.
Kudos to one and all!!

Recipe for शेर ओ शायरी

Ingredients:

- List of Hindi words

-List of Urdu words

-A formula (sequential sentence(s))

- 1 table spoon of inspiration (politely known as “copy”)

-1 cup of creativity

- 2 tables spoons of originality

-For flavor- heart broken/betrayal or in initial stages of that infatuating love (optional- with all due respect to the singles around .Everybody can cook this :P)

-A pinch of individuality

Iterate through List 1 & List 2 and populate those heavy rhyming words (may not be rhyming always , just need to fit into the context).Feed them in the formula. To get the sequence, be a regular listener to shayeri shows on radio or other such sources (this is where inspiration comes into picture) .Ofcourse the way in which one feeds the elements and arranges them involves usage of rest of the ingredients above.

And the dish is ready to serve.

शमा भी हम
परवाना भी हमही

परछाई भी हम
आएना भी हमही

वफ़ा भी हम

Array index out of bounds exception ................

Junta you can make some contribution to this dish thread.Formula is ready .Hope your List sizes are more than mine.
This one strictly came out of this recipe .Rather the recipe was born from this.

How dry this sounds .Is this what a poet /writer really does? How confined things become if one chalks out a process /procedure out of a creative experiment. Thankful I am , Art is not programming and vice versa

And some non- procedural creations of grammatically and languagitically challenged me.

The workouts dint workout…...yet.

Survived almost an year without a mirror. Yes i did .Earlier (@ home) it
Was all-around shouting “KC” u have put on some kilos and there, I run to walk. The next day it says “oh dear so perfect u look” and I stop walking and wonder why were those idiots calling me fat.
Recently me and my roomy- Archy went and bought a half length mirror .Fortunately unfortunately it turned out to be a fallacy, as in the images look smaller than actual size. Hence even now we rely on Pantaloons /Lifestyle/OfficeLift. And they show the bitter truth. Time to do something.
Nothing can stop me from eating chocolates, sweets and all that junk. So we decided hmmm….not exactly “decided” just went and joined a Gym “Fit buzz”.

It’s all high tech in a posh locality, very near to the not-so posh locality, my apartment.Along with me joined Deeps and her friend (really lean people .They both add up to me.)

The first day, a new lady instructor volunteered to design my workouts. She asked me to try treadmill and then cycle and other such equipments with minimum effort levels. While Deeps instructor was very tough. Hehehe it should have been the other way round.

The second day I asked to change my instructor and got Deeps Instructor ( DI- since I don’t remember his name) .Gosh!! He made us workout beyond our limits and if we tried fiddling around with the settings he multiplied the speed limits. Within two days of attendance DI wanted to know each and every detail- where do u stay?, where r u from?, do u stay with ur parents ?, I am from Mumbai, I lost 25 kgs in 1 week.. blah blah……flirtuuuuu!! Who cares how many kgs u lost in wat time, wat I care is about how many I can loose.

Third day I got my old lady instructor (LI- I don’t remember her name either ) back, probably nobody there told her that I wanted to ditch her .Even I kept quite and thought lets continue.

Now starts the “War of the I’s”.DI’s classroom had all the thin girls , while LI’s kitty is filled with ppl like me .DI makes them do stretches, LI makes me do double stretches and more Abs…poor me .Their professional competition and we are the losers either ways. After all LI is new to the gym hence she needs to prove herself through somebody.

After long time we got the pleasure of bunking.

Of 20 days, I have attended only say 10 days. Now before anybody tries to make me realize that those 6000 bugs are being wasted, I have explanation. Fit buzz staff had holiday for that Diwali weekend. The next weekend my mom came so the “obedient daughter” needs to spend some time with her. Later Dad came. Once again the “obedient +caring+loving+etc” daughter needs to meet him, travel all the way to drdo colony and socialize. This consumed another few days. The next weekend was the big event “Hyd 10k run “(Sunday) ,need to take rest on sat as per “law of conservation of energy”. Skipped Monday which came after 10k Sunday .We thought must have burned enough calories and the body needs some rest. While the bunking story and self consoling explanation continues, we happen to try some spa facilities provided by them for “free”.
It’s like buy the tires for 4 lacs , with that the car is free.

All about gym no mention of the equipments .not fair! not fair!.
It has four Treadmills , 2 bikes , one stepper , a Rotex , (- all Cardio)& leg press , which I have tried .While rest which others have tried are abdominal crunch , leg extensions, leg curl , chest extension & dumble in all shapes and sizes .They all belong to the class of “Technogym made in Italy”.

My favorite is Rolex though it terrified me with the heart rate reading which varied from 0.00 to 170. Lately found I wasn’t holding the conducting plate/support properly.

The so called free spa offers Sauna (A sauna session can be a social affair in which the participants sit or recline in temperatures of over 80 °C (176 °F). This induces relaxation and promotes sweating.) , Steam and Jacuzzi (whirlpool bathtubs with water jets.)

We have tried Sauna which is a small wooden chamber near the locker rooms. The Locker room + Sauna chat session with Deeps resulted in eye-opening gyaan on something. No revealing of locker room chat here.

Now the big question did I loose any weight .Yes, around 1 kg …..haah it wont even take a day to gain it back and that day is gone.

While the bunking still continues……………………..
